The Claymores were founded by a man by the name of Garland Et Iendol, self-proclaimed heir to the now non-existent (possibly never-existent) kingdom of Iendol. He was born and raised in a small province on the outskirts of Arigel, which was destroyed and sacked in the interests of Aeliavim expansion. He was one of just a few survivors, some young men who were taken as slaves for their strong builds. With the help of an ex-templar(who shall remain nameless), the group of young men were rescued and wandered the land, forsaken by their past lives. Some of these young men left to pursue their own goals, but those who stayed with their savior learned the arts of killing things that would otherwise kill them. Garland was among these. His skill and fervor were legendary, and the other young men followed him eagerly. When they had learned all they could, they ventured out into the world, becoming the first Claymores.
The original group numbered 10 members, but member ship has always been fluid with the claymores. Members come and go, and sometimes leave to do work on their own. The group had dwindled down to just 6 when they met their unfortunate end at the hand of a powerful coven of vampires. Now only Jason remains, the sole survivor.
Beliefs & Practices
The Beliefs and practices of the Claymores have always been simple. We survive on the survival of others. Protecting the weak, and often getting paid in the doing so. The more lives they saved, the better their reputation. Their clients often included wealthy lords, land holders, and even the Citadel, when they were in need of extra hands and were willing to pay for them.
Stingy and often broke as they were, the Claymores also had a healthy reputation for protecting people even when there was no compensation involved. Even to the point of sticking their noses into business where they weren't wanted. This is the advantage of not being Templar: anonymity.
Perhaps the most important aspect of the claymores was brotherhood. Even those who flew solo could count on other members to back them up if needed. The Emblem of the group depicts three hands holding the same sword, symbolizing many hands working towards the same purpose. The idea is that even though we are trained, we all need aid at times.
[The Blue Card] Royal Blue is the color of the Claymores, if they had a uniform that is. The Calling card of the group was a Blue-dyed thick parchment which was exchanged with Lords and other influential individuals. These Cards were used in certain locations to attract nearby Claymores, because Claymores were typically nomadic, and finding one in your immediate vicinity was not always easy. To this day, many Lords and Landholders still have these Blue Cards.
[Safehouses] Due to the nomadic and transitory state of the Claymore membership, The group had several 'hide-aways' the locations of which were known only to the group's members. During the group's glory days, these hideouts were kept by a select and trusted member of the local populace. Since news of Garland's death, however, many of these safehouses have fallen into disrepair, and have been subject to looting and vandalism. Only the Safehouse in Pickernicen remains intact, with the help of the local doctor, Malachi, friend of Jace.
Although Garland never had any official title, he was head of the group from it's inception to it's demise. He was sometimes called 'chief' by his members, but if(when) the group is reformed by Jason, he may take on a different title. Filled by: Jason Rosenstele
Second in command of the group, in charge of managing matters when the chief is incapacitated or intoxicated. Or Dead. Filled by: NONE
At the peak of it's numbers and workload, the group would have a quartermaster appointed. It was usually an individual good at numbers or memorization. All the things that Garland didn't really have time for. The Quatermaster was in charge of keeping track of all the group's valuables and weapons, as well as who held them. Filled by: NONE
An as-needed position, and was usually only filled when chance brought a light quint-gifted individual into the Claymore folds. Filled by: NONE
An honorary mocking title, given by Garland to the one member of the group who needed saving most often. Filled by: NONE

Recruitment and Manifest
Total Members: 1
Recruitment is CLOSED
If you wish to create a character as a member of the Claymores, please speak to Rosen Stele in a PM. The current 'leader' of the Claymores, Jason Rosenstele, is not recruiting members into the group. However, it may be possible to have been a member of the group and have gone missing/solo before the events detailed in Jace's profile. Such a character would have to be in their late 20's, or early 30's for this to be the case, however, as all recent members were wiped out all at once.
When Recruitment is a possibility, however, no characters can be created into the ranks of the Claymores. The Claymores are a tight-knit group and their members must be sought out and inducted in RP. This does not mean that you can't create a character specifically for the role of a Claymore. PM Rosen Stele and we will hash out the details of your recruitment story.
