He had a stronger sense of things when it came to the five or six scenes of the human body and being a vampire had enhanced just about everything on him. Which made him quick to pick up on things. He knew off the bat that the old man had lied to the girl, but why.....was it for Jason's own good or was it something else. He had glanced back at the doctor after he disappeared back into the building and then glanced at the girl who looked really sad before looking at Rache wondering if he had caught on to what he had caught on to. He sighed as he knew he couldn't keep this to himself and rubbed his chin slightly."Anyways reason why he would say that?"He asked the girl slowly as he looked at Rache and then back to this girl."If you haven't put two and two together by now then you ...you just don't see it."He pointed out as he looked back at the girl crossing his arms slightly."Guess leaving now is not an option"He muttered to Rache and he sighed in annoyance.
Cadence chuckled lightly at Rache's comment about polar bears, but she did not respond to it. This girl must be an alchemist or something-cadence knew the sort.
She was thinking to herself, and nearly missed the girl's question. "yes he is. We were separated a couple years ago. I thought he was dead for the longest time, until I heard about his travels from someone. I have been trying to piece together what happened since then." She explained. "I was nearly killed by a monster in the mountains, and was told that he died there too." She felt the familiar apprehension now, the curiosity. Why had Jace abandoned her?
When Soul spoke she shifted her eyes to meet his. Put what and what together? She thought. "What do you mean, Soul?"
Soul sighed and tilted his head back."Well.....if I get hurt for this later then I'm blaming you"He said as he then looked back at her."Of course he is lieing to you.....haven't seen anyone else walking around other then a man that looks just like you.....he was just there...because of an accident that had happened with a young woman..and helped him bring her here for treatment...not sure where he went...,but I think he might still be inside or something not sure...."He added"Now why he would lie...beats me....your brother thinks your dead as well...."He said looking up at her. "So someones story got reworded by someone somewhere and why and for what reason beats me,but I want to be on your brothers good side...so...might as well tell ya the truth.....you two dabble in a risky business...if I assume your like your brother..."He said and laughed. "Was going to go with Rache here for some....research stuff.....,but he might come looking for me...and all"He added with a laugh. "Man....looks like I'm stuck with him now"He laughed.
Outwardly Rache's visage showed a faint disapproving frown in response to Soul's muttered comment to her, but inwardly she couldn't help but feel a twinge of agreement with the unfortunate side of this turn of events. But, she also wasn't usually one to get involved in family matters... Then again what better way to appease the hunter by bringing him his long lost sister? If indeed they were siblings and this wasn't just a coincidence of hair color. Soul seemed exceptionally sure, and being a vampire he was probably the best sleuthing hound they had for this sort of thing.
When the boy finally finished his nervous rambling Rache reached out to gently grasp Cadence's arm just in case she decided to immediately run off back to the clinic door. "Now! Before we get ahead of ourselves..." she began in an almost laughing tone, "If this is all true then that cranky doctor doesn't want you knowing. So instead of you bursting in there tongue blazing as that vampire hunter attempts to scuttle off in secret how 'bout we send a different damsel in distress while you hide nearby?" suggested the alchemist. Rache released Cadence when she finished and took a couple small steps back toward the door and scanned the visible streets for a moment just in case.

Cadence felt as though Soul had a hand on her heart and was squeezing it through her rib cage. Her brother thought she was dead too? What had happened? Why was Malachi lying to them? Her heart was pounding in her head. He's in there...right now? Her breath caught. He could be standing right there, not thirty yards from her. She wanted so badly to take off running, to fling the door open and demand answers, but that wouldn't change the facts. Maybe he had wanted her to die. Maybe he felt free now that she was not clinging to him day in and day out. As she stared back to the building the distance between it and she seemed to open like a canyon.
Rache's arm snatched Cadence from her mind, and she looked visibly shaken. It was getting hard to breathe. Cadence took a step back. "Umm...alright." She said finally, looking from one to the other. She looked back at Soul. "Before anything happens, I have to know since no one had mentioned it. His name. , it was Jace, wasn't it? Or Jason? not sure which he is going by now." She was getting light headed, and her own voice seemed to echo in her ears.
Rache will not see anything down either alley at this junction. Even the windows to the Doctor's house have their blinds drawn.
"See now I know I am right"Soul said as she had said his name and it was for certain this was his sister who he had thought dead as well. He wondered who made the story and for what reason. He knew Jason didn't make that story up from the way he held himself he loved his sister and his sister seemed to share the same passion of feelings for him. This made Soul feel better for the events that had took place in the past couple hours. He smiled at Rache and then looked to Cadence."So....who should I go after then.....should I do what I already did or tried to do..or should I just try to steal something?"He asked Rache as he tried to come up with a plan to lure Jason out. Besides he did wonder off he was wondering how mad he would already be. But he wanted to make him happen. He seemed to have so much pain and darkness in his life he wouldn't hurt to shine a little light on it for once.
The blond haired woman smiled when Cadence agreed. Her gaze shifted onto the vampire of the group as he spouted a few ideas on how they could draw attention to themselves. Before she could think too much on it though the lost sister offered her brother's name. It was unfortunate that neither of them had managed to grab that hunter's name; for more assurance. But they'd just have to work with what they had.
"Gotcha," Rache acknowledged the new information provided. A finger went to her lips in thought, her eyes falling into a distant stare at the clinic's door. "Well... my initial plan was to burst in there screaming for the hunter cause the vampire's 'friend'..." she air quoted the last word as added emphasis, though only had one hand free thanks to her thick journal. The alchemist turned her head back around to regard Soul, "... was still around. But if you wanted to put yourself in the spotlight having you chase would make it more genuine."
The girl practically jumped then. A new realization turning on the little light bulb in her head. "Heeeyyy," she whispered slyly. "Couldn't you just track him?" It was spoken in a low voice but not meant to be hidden from Cadence at all. "He couldn't have gotten that far, right? Even if we cause a commotion we should make sure he's still in the vicinity so we don't just get a bunch of random guys being all chivalrous."

Cadence had fallen into her mind again, looking over facts in her head. So much about her separation with her brother was shrouded in mystery. She frowned and, without hearing what the others were talking about, began walking around the back of the clinic. The night was deeper in the alleyway that coiled between the houses in this part of the city. The shadows obscured all but the brightest hues. She turned around the building, and saw a curtain flapping out of an open window. She caught a glimpse of the doctor, seated by the window, smoking a pipe. His expression seemed haggard; strained.
Her brows bunched up in the middle, and she felt an uncharacteristic anger awaken somewhere in her gut. There was bile in her throat. Who was this man who could decide what she could or couldn't know. She needed Answers. There was yet another avenue that curved off between two partially adjoined houses, that led off into another street. She turned her attention that direction, and started walking.
Soul sighed as he had looked at Rache and then looked to Cadence as she had began to wonder off back towards the clinic. It seemed to be clear that she was no longer listing to them and that her anger and curiosity as to why the man had led to her and where her brother might be getting the best of her. He knew it wasn't a good idea to go rushing into these things. He should know it was why he had got turned into some stupid vampire in the first place and he hated it. He had quickly caught onto her movements not sure if Rache was keeping up with what was going on or not since she was thinking of ideas before he had went off and followed Cadence. Stopping in front of her as she had peered into a window. He grabbed her shoulder rather tightly and muttered under his breath. "Damn girl don't you listen at all.....how would he react to your anger and to what I said....he'll probably come kick my ass or something...that damn old man scares me....now relax...take a breath and think about this ok...."He begged her.
As Soul wandered away with but a glance to regard her question, Rache huffed quietly. Her lips pursed as she frowned, brows angling down on her face, and she ceased all speech. Granted she hadn't noticed their new friend had slipped away while she was talking and Soul's departure from the alchemist's side enlightened her. Rache unfroze herself as the two disappeared around the clinic. She secured the strap on her bag on the opposite shoulder to the side in which it hung then chased after them with her journal held in both hands at her chest.
Rache rounded a moment after Cadence was grabbed by the vampire boy. While Soul hushed words at the other woman Rache scanned the path she had started wandering down. Looked like any other alley, though a bit tighter and winding than ones she herself preferred to traverse. There was no back door to the clinic, just a few windows only one of which flapped lightly with curtains free in the breeze of the evening. As the alchemist approached she caught momentary glances to the doctor sitting quietly.
A silent sigh escaped her. It was unlikely Jace was in there then. But of course, that would have been too easy. When Rache finally stepped up beside the other two she was stifling a yawn.
"Alright, I have a great and simple plan," she started. Her tone was flat and rather serious compared to previously. She turned her hazel eyes onto Cadence, seeming to take a moment to consider something about the girl. "I go in there and ask the doctor where the hunter went, using this." Rache then turned her journal around so the front was facing out from her. She then tapped a finger by the brown gem set into the latch holding her book closed. "I can be very persuasive."

Cadence's eyes narrowed as she looked through the window. She had half a mind to climb in there and seize him by his - Speaking of seizing, Soul had gripped her shoulder, coming up behind her and bringing her out of her internal haze. He seemed to fear her brother, and wanted to avoid conflict. But she was his sister. How could Jace be anything but happy for their reunion...There was a pang in the pit of her stomach. Some piece of the story that had been kept from her. He had fled, probably knowing she was there. But why? She regarded Soul hotly. "If you are that afraid of him, then leave, this doesn't concern you anyway..." She trailed off as Rache appeared behind them.
Who were these two and why did they care so much about Cadence's problem? It oddly filled her with some kind of bitterness. These two were friends with Jace and still didn't know what was going on here. Rache motioned to her quint-set journal, offering something clandestine. The magic, if it indeed made the man more talkative, was decidedly a better plan than her climbing into his space and questioning him. She acquiesced weakly. "Alright." she replied to Rache, defeated. "Thank you."
"I am not scared of him...it is just a long story"Soul added as he rubbed the back of his neck and then looked over at Rache as she had came over and suggested something. Was that jounery of hers magic or something is that why she held it so dear to her heart and kept it so close because of what it could do.No wonder she kept it close she would of used it on him if she had to.He sighed at the thought and looked at Cadence and Rache feeling a bit left out with the whole thing since he wasn't sure what he should be doing now,but he knew he didn't want the girl to just rush into there.
Rache's face grew into a beaming smile. "Excellent." She spoke excitedly, though kept her voice down. The alchemist turned to Soul, dropping her shoulder so the strap to her duffel slid off and into a free hand; her other holding the journal to her body. The duffel was then offered to the vampire, "Hold this for me?" Despite the question she practically shoved the bag into his hands then dropped herself to the ground. She patted the cobbled road and wiped her hands at her face and neck to smear a little dirt around. She even reached into her pocket to remove the silver letter opener and dab her finger so she could add a little red for effect.
Finding the idea fun, she decided to mix her earlier plan with this one. The process was hasty and soon she was standing back up making slight adjustments to her wear to make herself look more disheveled. "There," started the girl looking rather pleased. "Now you guys can keep watch and wish me luck," she instructed in a hushed tone before almost skipping back around the corner of the clinic. There was a brief glance to the open window with a considering look.
As she rounded she put her witchly abilities to work. She fluffed her hair with her free hand and brightened it into a strawberry red. Her eyes darkened to a striking brown, lips lightly paled and cheeks flushed as if she'd been running in the cold for a while. Before she got to the door she made a breathless shout followed by pounding at the wooden threshold. Of course she then tried to open it, not surprised to discover the door was indeed locked. Rache called to be let in with panicked cries, her voice only slightly different. At first there were no sounds of stirring inside, Dr. Malachi likely sighing and rubbing his brow in question as to why the world hated him tonight. But when the girl was obviously not going anywhere and only sounded more and more frightened the click of a latch signaled success in step one.
The door cracked open, the older man's face barely visible through the slit as he stared down at her; scowl on his face. Rache returned his look with wide eyes and pushing into the door. She could see his suspicions clear on his face but he relented further and allowed her inside.
"Oh thank the Trinity," Rache panted in relief, glancing around the room while Dr. Malachi closed the door. As expected there wasn't anyone here but the woman they'd brought in a few minutes ago. There was another room though... likely where the other patients were resting. "What's possessed you to make such a fuss at this hour?" the doctor inquired in a surprisingly soothing voice. "Vam-vampire woods..." she babbled, adding a shake to her hands as she gripped her journal tight.
Malachi pursed his lips in thought and outstretched a hand in a calming gesture. She noted his gaze observing the marks applied to her skin. "Sshhh," he hushed briefly before waving her further into the room to a chair. Rache twisted herself around to view the indicated seat but didn't move for it. She needed the doctor closer. Instead she took a deep breath and looked to be trying to settle herself. That did the trick, Dr. Malachi stepping closer to place his outstretched hand on her shoulder with intent to give her a gentle push in the right direction.
With the shoulder contact Rache turned herself back around with a startled look at the older man. But that quickly turned into a grin as her hands shot out with her journal into the doctor's chest. He recoiled back in surprise only to quickly find the wall and Rache simply followed. Before Dr. Malachi could bat her away the tainted constitution quint had done its work, a little shine coming off of her book. Rache brought her precious journal back to her side and gave the doctor some space.
"Now," she began in a rather chipper tone. "You're going to answer my next question with as much information as you possibly can regarding the individual it pertains to." Her instructions received a nod from the doctor, even a smile. He was watching her rather intently. It was almost unnerving. "Where is Cadence Rosenstele's brother: Jason, the hunter that was here a few minutes ago?"
The doctor pointed into the darkened room where Rache assumed other patients were resting. She turned her head with a curious tilt. Surely it wasn't that easy. The witch returned her attention to Dr. Malachi to find a grey clawed hand coming down at her. She screamed and fell backward to avoid it. The doctor's form was twisted between his normal features and a non-descript grey shape, eyes glowing an odd sky blue as he sneered down at her.

Cadence, who had been watching with sweet confusion as the girl mussed herself up for her act, watched her go around to the front of the building. the Doctor's tormented sigh irritated her for some reason, as she watched him move to get the door. She didn't see the act, but heard it, and watched as he led the actress into the room he had been in before, motioning for her to sit. Cadence took an involuntary step forward, straining to hear anything the doctor might divulge. But to her amazement, his form rippled and burst into a shadowed monster, turning to attack the girl.
for the giggles and the sh'ts
Cadence slid the bow effortlessly off her back, and quickly knocked an incendiary arrow into place. Kneeling down, she launched the arrow through the open window, aiming for the creature's bared chest. Once loosed, she followed the Arrow through the window, ducking and rolling behind a nearby armchair. "Rache, get back behind something! quickly!" She called to her new found friend. Cadence was not normally a combatant person, but fighting along side the Halflings had taught her something of necessity. Since then she had taken it upon herself to train more than just her mind as she traveled this expansive and dangerous world.
Soul groaned and slapped a hand to his face as he slowly rolled it down in an aggravated grunt. "First I was being hunted now am I like the hero now....yeah a vampire hero"He said with a laugh before he had followed after Cadence and jumped in through the window to get inbetween the creature and Rache besides he was immortal he wasn't afraid of getting scratched up or hurt by this were like creature. He just hoped he didn't get killed by it."Rache you ok?'He asked her without turning his head as his eyes and began to glow as he drew in his vampire strength to help protect his new friend.
(sorry about it sucking...in a rut at the moment....my next reply will be better)
