Soul glanced at Jason and then to the sword and nodded after the deed was done and the creatures head was chopped off he straightened himself off and handed the sword back to Jason. Soul was a bit surprised that the creature had told him that his sister was in town and he nodded his head to him. "Honestly if you want to know you should ask her yourself.....I don't know what happened in the past or why your both so edgy and mad about stuff, but I think somewhere alone the lines that happened a lie was told....you really should go talk to her....get it off your chest and stop running away....I'm alone in this world....I have no one....I would give anything to have my family back....,but I know it will never happen....you still have your sister...regardless of whatever happened you owe it to her and yourself to talk to her...."He said and then glanced at Rache."If your like for us not to bother with it me and Rache her can take a walk.....,but if you want my advice....just go talk to her....your feel much better I think anyways"He said to him. "So.....whats ya going to do now.....hunter?"He asked with a smirk.

((Sorry to skip Rache, but it seemed appropriate, let me know if you want me to take it down))
Jason gave Soul a rueful smile as he accepted the blade. He pulled out a cloth from his back pocket and wiped the blade off before sliding it back into its sheath. He heard the vampire out thoroughly before he spoke, taking every word into consideration, even if this man had no idea about the situation. Jason gave a small laugh, not a mean laugh, but a laugh that said 'it isn't that easy.'
"Certain truths may have been kept from my sister, but it was not my doing to place them there." He began with some pain. He seemed heavily reluctant to talk about it, but began again, "Well, you're certainly in the thick of it now. My nerves are prickling up at the thought that she and I are in the same city. That's not supposed to happen." Jason took a deep breath, leaning against the wall, "But you're in it this deep, I might as well tell you guys...so you don't mess it up at the very least."
Jason rubbed his eyes tiredly. "When Cadence and I were running on our own, we lived pretty modestly. We would hunt for our own food, and sell furs and other things to get whatever resources we needed. We were completely oblivious to the dangers of this world. When we were hunting in the hills just north of here, we were attacked by a creature known as a Winter Wraith. It nearly tore Cadence to shreds before we were rescued by the head of my order, now deceased." Jace began, it was a hurried abridged version, but the didn't need to know the full story. "They did everything they could to heal Cadence, even used quints and magicy stuff. Her body was healed, but she had been infected with a supernatural disease which slowly kills the host, which quints nor potions could cure. So we brought Cadence to a powerful witch, who gave her a very powerful but cursed quintessence...the amulet she wears around her neck. It keeps the disease at bay. Keeps her alive. But the cost is...our family. The amulet only holds power so long as we stay separated. The moment Cadence lays eyes on me, she will die." Jace finished, looking up at the dark, churning sky. "So I need to skip town. If you, Vamp, want to get clean, You can come with me and I will help you."
With that, Jason turned on his heal and began marching in the opposite direction of the now only smoking house.
When it was time he had let Jason talk and he kind of felt bad for anything that he said till Jason had told him about his sister and what would happen if he stayed also about giving him the choose of staying or coming with him. It was a lot to wrap his head around it must of been terrible and eat him alive to know that if he laid eyes on his sister it might kill her. It was really a lot to take in and then he watched as Jason finished and began to walk off. Soul went after him."Wait.....Jason...you never thought of telling her the real truth.....in a letter or something...."He said feeling conflicted now there was him and Rache and now Jason's sister. He didn't really know where to go,but he felt like something or someone gave him a second chance and with all that had happened in just the few hours of meeting them was enough to make him edgy about what was next. He then glanced back at Rache wondering if she wanted input on what was said or going on.
As Soul disappeared around the corner to deal with the monster problem, Rache began half dragging the poor unconscious woman the opposite direction and into a different alley that connected with the main street. Her arms and shoulders ached with all the exertion from this night. The witch huffed and let the woman down gently at the mouth of the alley, taking a moment to stretch her arms afterward. Taking a peak at the house next door it seemed the townspeople had everything under control.
Rache muttered a word of relief before darting back through the back alleys back to where Soul had gone to. She was going to slow and peak around but upon hearing him talking she guessed the deed was done and Cadence was already with him. A smile split across her face, her hand relaxing on the katar. But it wasn't a female voice that responded to the vampire. Like a spark of lightning charging through her brain her visage shifted to one of shock as she rounded the corner and uttered the name of Cadence's brother.
Yep. There he was. Frowning the alchemist stalked toward the pair, quickly coming to realize the tale he was revealing to the young vampire. It was quite the story. Rache stopped silently behind Soul as Jace finished and turned to leave. Her eyes met with Soul's when he looked back following the letter comment. She gave him a shrug. "Cadence mustn't be allowed to know anything about it perhaps? Could be why he hasn't sent a letter," she suggested uncertainly. She twitched with anticipation. Surely Cadence would be coming around soon to investigate where the two of them were so they needed to decide quickly.
"I think we should go with him," she started, "He said he can help you, and we could help Cadence best by finding out more about this curse thing. Plus..." continued the witch as she hurriedly opened her bag, deposited her weapon, and tore out a small bit of paper after fumbling for a small stick of charcoal. "Sun's rising and you need to get out of here for some shadier place." Rache scribbled across the small page in barely legible writing:
Safe Following lead If need us leave message for Mdm Grey Will find you
She then stopped suddenly with a look of realization, "Wait, maybe Cadence can't read?" Rache shook her head, muttering something about not having time to worry about it. There was still room on the page if Soul wanted to add anything, otherwise once finished Rache would tuck a corner of the page into a fleshy pocket of the doppelganger and make to follow Jace.

Jace led the two down one of the side streets, away from the now smoking building. The thin strand of smoke seemed to slither benignly in the air behind them, diminishing. Jason thought about the letter Idea for a moment. "I didn't want her to know. I thought if she thought I was dead, that she could move on without worrying about the past. I want her to be able to live happily alone, instead of wondering about me all the time, like I do for her." He stated simply. "But that's ruined now."
A small sigh escaped him. Rache was right, the Vamp needed out of the sun. Some Claymore he was, toting around a witch and a vampire. This party was already getting too crowded. Perhaps he'd been alone for too long, he had forgotten what it was like to have travelling companions. He turned sharply down some steps into a shallower part of town, they were reaching the edge of the city as it was, and the Pickernicen rows were not the kind of place Cadence would venture. She valued cleanliness far too much. As they reached to bottom of the stair Jace led them to a small building, barely large enough, it seemed, to be an apartment. He lifted the weak iron latch to reveal not a room, but another descending stair, leading down into a darkened interior.
As they descended, Jace, who had lit up a torch that rested at the top of the stairs, explained. "This used to be a safehouse for the Claymores here in Pickernicen. I come here every so often to keep it up, and old Malachi watches it for me too when he can." Jace began. "It is a small warehouse, but it gives us a place to rest our heads and to keep Mr. Combustible out of the daylight."
Jason lit a brazier near the bottom of the stair, and a stream of fire crawled it's way around the interior room, like a snake, illuminating the place. There was a row of cots against the far wall of the long chamber, and on either side of the entrance were wooden shelves holding everything from simple gear, to books on monsters, to journals and personal affects no longer in service. It was hard to tell if some of it was gear or trophies. Along one of the far walls was a set of three mounted heads: A bulette, a Werewolf, and what appeared to be a horned Lion. "Welcome to the Westpost Hideaway."
Soul had followed Jason with Rache towards what he considered to be a safe house where they could all rest at. It was a nice place to Soul and provided enough darkness so the sun wouldn't bother him or anything.Just how he liked it. He was so tired and by now was just following the two blindlessly to the building. "Thanks "Was all he said as he looked around at the place after he light the room up with a lantern and took not of the mounted heads on the wall. Which made him cringe a little before he turned his head away. "Some hide out eh?"He asked with a slight laugh as he had laid down on cot on the far wall of the long chamber. "Hope you don't mind me not being very talkative, but I need some rest......I had enough of excitement for one day......so.....I'll like to sleep now...if that's ok"He said to the two with an added Yawn.
She followed, though uncomfortably, the claymore as he led them to a dank part of town. The small young woman felt like she was about to get mugged. One of her large self-bound journals had found its way from her bag and bag into her hands. The thick leather pressed tightly against her chest as they wound their way to the small building, through its halls, and down the cellar stairs. Well, she thought it a cellar at first.
The alchemist's interest was peaked as the steps opened into a fairly nice hideaway. Hazel eyes lit up in wonder as their guide did the same for the room. "Used to be a safe house? What's wrong with it?" she questioned the hunter while her feet took her across the room to inspect the trophy heads. The burrower's head was perhaps the most daunting of them all due to its size, polished and smoothed to eerily reflect the flickering flames. Rache inspected each while 'listening' to the others. Hands jittering with excitement as she poked at the trophy heads, only to be reminded at the waste of reagents they represented. Although... that horn could be...
Rache shook her head and spun around with her hands clenched tightly around her journal. As she turned she caught Soul's yawn, his words catching up in her mind shortly thereafter. "It has been a long day," the witch started at the trail end of a stifled yawn of her own. Her gaze settled on Jace, "You're not going to lock us down here, right?" It was only half a tease. Her voice carried a certain worry when she asked. Not that he would tell her if that was his plan and she knew the moment she laid down she was going to be out cold, snoring away oblivious to the world around her.
Regardless of his response Rache made a sheepish scurry over to a free cot and sat cross legged on it. Her bag was dropped gently at the foot of the bed and her book lay in her lap. There was only one way she could know for sure she wasn't about to be locked in a dungeon to starve, or more likely be eaten by a vampire. Her hand went to open the clasp of the pouch on her thigh, fingers pulling out a thick deck of tall cards before shuffling them with absolute focus. After a few rounds she stopped, fingered them along the sides, spread a section to slide her finger along again, then pulled one out to stare at.

Jason learned against the entry way as the two walked about their temporary domicile. He had to admit, he was tired too. Rachel's comment about why it used to be a safe house made him inhale sharply. "They are all dead." He replied. "Don't really need a safe house just for me." He noted, pushing off the wall and closing the latch on the door at the foot of the stairs.
"Lock's on the inside. Couldn't lock you in if I wanted to. Why? You done something to deserve being locked up?" He half-joked. He was talking to a witch after all.
He took a moment to look down to the resting vampire, considering. What was the plan now? He hadn't really had much of one. A sigh escaped the Claymore's lips. "Stay here. I am going out for some air." He said to the two, turning on his heel and going back up the way they'd come.
Jason watched the sun rising over pickernicen, as it did everyday, and for a moment he was a boy again, running through the streets with his sister, avoiding the ever-scornful gazes of adults. His own adulthood had turned out to be quite the test. And he found most of the time he still had no idea what he was doing.
After a moment of standing in silence, the claymore turned away from the sun and walked somberly to the west. Past the last row of houses there was a ramshackle graveyard, littered with unceremonious graves. Most unmarked. One grave was marked only with a large sword protruding from the ground. Around it's hilt was tied the mark of the Claymore. Jason stood before it now, frowning. "Screw you guys and your vendetta." He tossed out after a moment, letting a long wordless moment pass.
"I am tired of losing people." He let the sentence hang in the air as he walked back to the safe house.
"Oh yeah sure.....ask that to him after he leads us down into some secluded basement...nice going there Rache"Soul muttered to her from the bed as he glanced over at Jason after he had gave his response and smirked at him. It was nice to get some testing in after all that had happened tonight. It seemed like the night had dragged on forever and it had left the young vampire very exhausted. He watched as Rache seemed to pull out some cards and shuffle them before she seemed content with whatever card she had drawn. He quocked his head slightly wondering if it was some card reading game that he had heard of when he was a younger kid. He then glanced back at Jason as he had said that he was going to go out for some air and that he would be back soon and to stay there. Soul wasn't much at doing what he was told, but he shrugged his shoulders to tired to really care as he yawned against while laying in the bed and turned on his back glancing up at the wall as he holding his fingers together and placed them behind his head as if thinking before he shifted again taking one last look at Rache before he closed his eyes and smirked. "To bad though.....you would of made a nice meal"He joked with Rache as if she didn't already think about it when she had asked Jason if he was going to lock them down there. With that last statement he decided to let sleep take him.
Hairs prickled on the back of her neck in response to Soul's words. Her eyes shot over to the resting undead boy, a look of uncomfortable fear quickly dispersing into an annoyed frown. The alchemist placed the cards back together and slid them back into their pouch, "I guess I won't lock to door so he can't kill you in your sleep..." she muttered a retort then laid down herself.
((If no one minds skipping ahead...))
Despite her tiredness from all the running around and excitement of the night, the witch's sleep was rather restless. Blearily her eyes flitted open. Back sore, neck pinched, she groaned a little as she sat up. It was little wonder as to why her legs and feet were experiencing a little muscle pain considering her fall and lack of mind to remove her shoes before falling asleep, but she only had one thing to blame for her uncomfortable sleep.
"This cot is the worst," she half mumbled as she became more lucid. Rache raised a hand to rub her eyes and wipe her brow before blinking herself fully awake. She hadn't even considered looking to see if the others were awake, or even around before she spoke. Heck, she didn't even know what time it was. There was a sigh and half spoken mumbles regarding underground from the young witch as she observed the room.

"You could always throw the blanket in the floor and sleep there"Soul mummbled to her as he turned his head to look at her.It looked like the vampire had slept pretty good despite the awfully old cots. This was a pleasure compared to where he had found himself sleeping at before and he half wondered where Jason might be now that Rache was awake. "So are you blaming the cot or is what I said last night still bothering you?"He asked with a laugh. "You know I was only joking right.....I would never do that...plus I kinda had my feel earlier."He admitted from the girl before. He felt so sorry for that girl she seemed to have been through a lot in one day.He shook his head. They all had been through a lot in one day. Is this why hunters wore so moody. He thought and laughed about it."Probably"He said out loud.

"Probably what?" Jason came out of a smaller room connected to the side of this one. The Claymore was drying his hands off. "You're not telepathic or anything are you? that would be irritating." Jason returned to the other room without waiting for a response. When he emerged again, he was holding two wooden plates. Each had two Eggs, and a couple pieces of Bacon. He offered one of the plates to Rache, walking right by Soul as he did so. "Sorry, Fangs, but I don't have any blood for your right now." He said in passing.
He sat on a cot between the two and offered Rache a three-pronged wooden fork. The utensils were well-used but not Dirty, and the food was not spoiled or moldy. "Breakfast of warriors." He joked thinly.
Yep. She was still here. Rache turned her head to the undead boy when he began speaking. "You can probably imagine what it's like to be sleeping in a room with something that could be eating you while you sleep. But unlike bedbugs you're a lot easier to catch," she replied when Soul went quiet. The small witch shifted to the edge of the bed, taking time to adjust her twisted clothing. "Ugh..." she mumbled quietly to herself, "So uncomfortable." Her head snapped the vamp's direction when he seemingly replied.
Her gaze broke to the hunter who'd poked his head into the room momentarily before disappearing again, only to return with breakfast. "If he was he'd be in for quite the trip," she quipped, a broad smirk rolling across her face with but a sideways glance at Soul. Rache happily accepted the offering of food, hesitating only a moment to smell and consider it with what was mentioned last night about this place. Instead she decided to ignore the piles of dust accumulated around her.
"Thank you." The words were rushed between slurps of the first egg. "So..." she started again moments later, but never made to finish the thought as she continued eating.
Soul laughted. "Rache now why would I go to the trouble to feed from you with a hunter around..that would jsut be stupid..."He said smirking at her again."Mmm besides....I wouldn't mind if you offered"He said laughing and then looked at Jason.
"Oh no....but it would be nice though....was just thinking if this was the reason why hunters seem so moody...lack of sleep....and all this chaos with it.....so ....probably was my best guess..."He said with a wink. "It's fine.....I'll probably look for something tonight....or...whatever if your let me that is.... "He said as he crossed his legs and sat indian style on the bed.
"You know I can still eat a bit of human food...,but not much....though it goes nicely with some blood"He said to Rache wondering if she was to focus on the food to notice his comment and he lend towards her. "So.....what?"He asked her and then looked to the room Jason had disappeared to. He was probably getting ready to head out or something.....,but he wasn't sure then again he wasn't sure on much anymore it was like he was there new pet. He sighed at the thought as he turned his head towards the wall and sighed as he layed back down on the cot.
The little witch was quite glad that Jace had positioned himself between her and Soul; though she was beginning to become accustomed to his little teases. The young vampire was very much a goody good and unlikely to set upon her suddenly... as long as he kept fed. Time would tell whether Rache was actually settling with her new company or if that comfort would disappear once the hunter was away. A momentary thought of Cadence flashed through her mind as she finished gulping down the other egg.
"So..." she repeated herself, though mimicking Soul's tone. "What do we do from here? I assume Mr. Hunter here isn't going to keep us in this cellar. I have things to do and schedules to keep." Rache paused, watching as Jace scurried back off into the kitchen for something with a mumbled word through bacon. The blond girl turned her head to Soul and leaned forward, whispering, "Plus there was our arrangement..."
Her original plans still floated in her mind, the testing of vampeeric blood for a new concoction... helping the young vamp with his blood problem... But there was also Cadence mingling into the agenda. Rache gave a quick glance to where Jace had disappeared to, then started looking around the room. She picked up one of the bits of bacon and hopped off the bed quietly. On one of the shelves there were a few ornate blue cards. She had heard some tales of these things and thought of an idea. While she didn't just want to leave Jace and therefore forgo the light promise they had made to help Cadence, this blue card might be the ticket to finding him again when they were ready. Besides, the details of the curse were already explained and sticking around this guy wasn't going to help them figure out a way around it.
Rache plucked a couple of the things up from their resting place and then scurried back over to the bed. "So?" came the word again, but with a curious tone and tilt of the head as if she expected Soul to have made a decision about something.
((If you're still interested Midnight we could continue this. We could have these two escape while Jace is away in the kitchen, then Rosen can hop back in whenever [if ever] he returns.))
